Rockwall Chamber to launch Women’s Mentoring & Educational Group

(ROCKWALL, TX – August 12, 2015) This September, the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce will step into a new era with an exciting program designed to build Rockwall’s next generation of female leadership and entrepreneurs.

The Executive Women’s Alliance (EWA) is a new committee of the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce that will empower and unite women through business and community events.  Membership is open to women business owners/women in an executive level within their organization.

The Executive Women’s Alliance will offer leadership and mentoring to Chamber partners and is committed to strengthening women as professionals and civic leaders.

Activities will include:

Continued education & workshops designed for developing female leadership

Roundtable discussions & think-tank style events

Mentor Program for young professionals and new chamber partners

“I am excited to be a part of a network that can make an impact for students and young professional women and the opportunity to mentor future leaders of Rockwall County,” said Karen Coughlin, EWA Chair and long-time local leader in business.

The charter membership for 2015-16 is comprised of successful women in various industries and designed to create an impactful resource to young women selecting their career paths or women seeking to network with other professionals.

A kick-off event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, September 10th in Downtown Rockwall; the event is open to the public and will include shopping, food and fun.
