(ROCKWALL, TX – August 26, 2015) Rockwall Pets will be featured amongst several nonprofit organizations on North Texas Giving Day, September 17.
North Texas Giving Day, which runs 6 a.m. to midnight, is an online event that provides nonprofits the opportunity to gain exposure to – and start relationships with – new donors, and for North Texans to come together and raise as much money as possible for local nonprofits. In six years, NTGD has pumped more than $86 million into theNorth Texascommunity. In 2014, more than 98,000 gifts totaling $26.3 million benefited 1,580 nonprofits.
On NTGD, donations to Rockwall Pets can be made at rockwallpets.com/ntgd. Bonus funds will be received for every online donation of $25 to $50,000; however any amount is greatly appreciated.
Live videos will be posted on Rockwall Pets’ Facebook Page on NTGD. For every $1,000 raised, a featured animal on the video will be rescued from the Dallas Animal Shelter during the shelter hours of 11 a.m. to 6:30 pm. Fosters will be at the Dallas Shelter to take these pets into their homes and get them ready for adoption at one of Rockwall Pets’ weekly adoption events.
Rockwall Pets is an all-volunteer group that began in 2010 and brought the Rockwall Shelter to “No Kill” status. In 2012, the group became a nonprofit, “No Kill” advocacy group and rescue. Every pet available through Rockwall Pets is spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (dogs), feline leukemia tested (cats) and fully vaccinated. Heartworm positive dogs are treated and some pets require surgery and/or medication before they can be placed for adoption.
Visit rockwallpets.com to see pets available for adoption and to learn more about this ambitious group focused on saving 1,000 lives this year. Efforts are well on track to reach this goal with over 500 pets already rescued, fostered and adopted. By donating online on September 17, you will be helping an abandoned pet get out of a shelter and into a loving, forever home.
