Texas Retina Associates to open office in Rockwall

(ROCKWALL,TX- August 5, 2015) Texas Retina Associates will open an office at 2380 S. Goliad Street, Suite 120 in Rockwall on Wednesday, August 19.

Designed to enhance access to care, the Rockwell office will be staffed by vitreoretinal specialists Deborah Y. Chong, MD, and Ashkan M. Abbey, MD. Dr. Chong will begin seeing patients on August 19, and Dr. Abbey will join the practice and begin seeing patients on September 1.

“The communities around Dallas  continue to grow, and we continue to expand to meet their needs,” explained Texas Retina Associates CEO Jeff Brockette. “We have cared for Rockwall patients for many years and are excited that they can now access our care even closer to home.”

Both Dr. Chong and Dr. Abbey provide diagnosis, treatment and surgery for disorders of the retina and vitreous, including retinal tears, retinal detachment, age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. A member of the American Society of Retina Specialists and the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Dr. Chong completed her fellowship at Texas Retina Associates in 2010 and joined the practice in 2012. She completed her residency at Kellogg Eye Center at the University Of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Abbey recently completed his fellowship at Associated Retinal Consultants,  William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. He completed his residency at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami,  Florida, and earned his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College in New York.
