(ROCKWALL, TX – September 21, 2015) The Rockwall High School Jacket Backers have selected Caleb Broach as the Jacket Backer Yellowjacket Athlete of the Month and Bayleigh Scott as the Jacket Backer Lady Jacket Athlete of the Month.
Caleb Broach, a 12th grade member of the Varsity Football Team, was nominated by Coach Rodney Webb and chosen by the Jacket Backers board.
Caleb is a dedicated leader on and off the field. For the month of August, Caleb led the team in rushing; one of the leaders in DFW in kick returns. His success is a direct result of the hard work he puts in every day.
“Caleb Broach has had an outstanding start to his senior season. He has excelled in all three phases of the game, and he has been an outstanding leader for us, both on and off the field,” said Coach Webb.
Bayleigh Scott is an 11th grade member of the Varsity Volleyball Team, and was nominated by Coach Damon Wilson and chosen by the Jacket Backers board.
Bayleigh is an outstanding student athlete helping her team in its quest to defend its district championship. For the month of August, Bayleigh led the team in blocks and hitting percentage for the month. She hit an outstanding .611 over six matches in the “Battle for the Rock” tournament held at RHS helping to lead her team to the championship with 13 blocks and 24 kills.
“Bayleigh is a dominating presence at the net. There are times in matches that she carries us offensively and has the knack of coming up with the big block when we need it the most,” said Coach Wilson.
