(ROCKWALL, TX – October 12, 2015) The Rainbow Room of Rockwall County welcomed its newest board members and staff members with tons of hot pizza during its meet-and-greet luncheon held on Thursday, Oct. 8.
The Rainbow Room, located inside the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services building at 1131 W. Yellowjacket Lane, provides emergency items and resources such as hygiene items, toys, comfort blankets and baby necessities for children and adults currently being served by the TDFPS due to abuse/neglect or suspected abuse/neglect. Accessible 24 hours a day / 7 days per week, the Rainbow Room allows caseworkers with the TDFPS and other branches to shop for these types of items as needs arise. All the items are donated by the community and 100 percent of the items go to the children and adults the TDFPS serves.
Volunteers go a long way towards helping the Rainbow Room provide for the caseworkers who serve neglected or abuse children and adults throughout North Texas, and the Rainbow Room is always looking for groups and individuals looking to get involved.
