(ROCKWALL, TX – Nov. 11, 2015) Cullins-Lake Pointe Elementary School hosted its annual Donuts with Veterans this morning.

Each year students deck the halls of CLP with United States flags, posters of family members or friends who served in the military, and patriotic art work.

They learn what it takes to be in one of the Armed Forces and the significance for our nation.

This morning visitors were greeted by CLP student leaders and then enjoyed the displays as they made their way down to the library.  If students brought a guest that was a veteran or currently serving in the Armed Forces they enjoyed donuts and a choir performance with them.

The third grade choir performed the National Anthem for their guests.

Mrs. Jones’ kindergarten class visited with Specialist Allen Jones who served during the Vietnam War.  The students read him letters and cards they had written to thank him for his service.  He was able to share with them a little about being in the military.
