(ROCKWALL, TX – Nov. 19, 2015) The Kiwanis Club has picked the grand marshal for the annual Christmas Parade! The theme this year is “A Picture Perfect Christmas,” and students from various elementary schools submitted a poster depicting the theme.
Gracie Fleming from Amy Parks Heath Elementary school submitted the winning poster, showing a girl taking a selfie. Her poster was chosen from many entries and entitles her to be the parade grand marshal.
The 46th annual parade will be held this year on Saturday, Dec. 5. It will start at 9 a.m., at the Rockwall County Courthouse, proceed down Townsend and end at Dobbs Elementary School.
Many registrations for floats have already been received but there is still time to enter if your organization would like to be part of the parade. For more information please go to Rockwallkiwanis.org. The parade is a way for the city of Rockwall to say thank you to its residents. It is put on each year by the local Kiwanis Club, proceeds which go directly to help the children of Rockwall County.
The Kiwanis Club meets each Tuesday at the Rockwall Wedding Chapel, from 12:00-1:00. Guests and prospective new members are always welcomed and provided with a free lunch. More information can be obtained from their website at Rockwallkiwanis.org.
