Rockwall Art League members enjoy Jay Bailey demo

(ROCKWALL, TX – Nov 5, 2015) The Rockwall Art League hosted its monthly membership meeting and demo October 28 at Harry Myers Park Community Center. Thirty seven people were treated to an informative, entertaining and outstanding demo by Jay Bailey.  Jay lives in Dallas and has his studio in the Continental Gin Building in Deep Ellum.  He has a BA and MFA from the University of  Nevada.  He works in watercolor and ink, graphite and charcoal and mostly focuses on the human figure.

Everyone in attendance was mesmerized by his talent and skills in demonstrating portraiture done in charcoal.  RAL is planning to schedule a workshop in Rockwall with Jay as the instructor.  You can see his work at jaybailey.com.

This was the last regular meeting and demo for 2015.  However, RAL will be starting 2016 with its monthly meeting on January 27 with a landscape oil painting demo by Cecy Turner.  Cecy is no stranger to Rockwall and artists always get so excited to attend either her watercolor or oil workshops, classes or demos.  You will want to mark your calendar for this date to start 2016 with an unbelievable art demo.

Be sure to check out the website rockwallartleague.org for artist’s galleries, upcoming events, annual calendar of events, special shows or exhibits, ArtReach information , scholarship information and workshops that RAL sponsor.

Also, almost every month RAL sponsors Studio Days which is open to the public.  RAL usually meets at Harry Myers Community Center in Rockwall except during the summer of 2016 when they will meet at the Fate Community Center in Fate.   Studio Days starts at 9:00 AM and ends at  3:00 PM.  Artists bring anything that they want to work on, need help with, need critiques on or just want to have fun and fellowship with other artists.
