(ROCKWALL, TX – Nov 2, 2015) This fall marked the successful kick-off of an exciting new committee for the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce. The Executive Women’s Alliance has been established to align and connect professional women in business and community.
The charter membership was developed through nominations of women that have served others throughout their careers and actively support Rockwall and the Chamber.
Charter members attended orientation followed by a reception sponsored by Honda Cars of Rockwall and Soroptimist, and they enjoyed music provided by the Downtown Merchant Association. Members then took advantage of Night Owl shopping and strolled the streets of the newly renovated downtown square.
In 2016, this new membership initiative will offer Chamber partners:
- A mentorship program to connect students or professionals aspiring to enter a certain industry with top female executives inRockwallCounty.
- Connection of new members with female executives in various industries as an introduction to enhance their business connection.
- Continued education on women’s issues through quarterly program meetings and roundtable discussions.
- Social networking events to create friendships and fun allowing the women of Rockwall to celebrate their successes and contributions.
The excitement during orientation truly indicates the passion this group of women has for their profession and for Rockwall. These women understand that serving others is just as important as the dedication they have given their careers. They are now committed to sharing their knowledge and experience with other women in business and the young professionals still charting their career paths.
The EWA’s 4th quarter social event will be La Tee Da, a posh, women-only affair featuring a magical ride aboard the Polar Express charter bus to The Atrium atGranvilleArtsCenter. Guests will enjoy holiday shopping with local vendors and experience pampering by some of Rockwall’s best salons. A portion of proceeds will go toward a raised garden for Women In Need, to help sustain their food pantry. Learn more and register at rockwallchamber.org.
A Mentoring Workshop for EWA charter members only will be held at the Rockwall Chamber from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12.
