(ROCKWALL, TX – Nov 10, 2015) Rockwall High School Band is proud to announce that Nick Messick, sophomore, and Nathan Mathura, senior, have made the 2015 TMEA All State Jazz Bands. This is a very prestigious honor. There are only 40 seats available for high school students of Texas to earn. Out of 40 seats only two piano players and 2 guitar players are chosen. Nick Messick is ranked 1st on Jazz Piano and Nathan Mathura is ranked 2nd on Jazz Guitar in the State of Texas.
Mr. Messick and Mr. Mathura recorded their audition on October 1st. All recordings in the state were judge on November 7th at Berkner High School. Both young men will be performing at the Texas Music Educators Association Convention in San Antonio, February 10th-13th. We are very proud of Nick Messick and Nathan Mathura.
