(ROCKWALL, TX – Dec. 15, 2015) On January 1, 2016, open carry will become law in the State of Texas.  How will the public react to seeing firearms openly carried?  If citizens call 911, how will the Police Department handle these types of calls?  The CARGO Group and the City of Rockwall will be hosting a meeting to discuss this topic.

CARGO stands for Citizens Association for Responsible Gun Ownership.  Assistant Chief Kirk Aldridge and Lieutenant Joseph Florance from the Rockwall Police Department will be present to discuss the procedures the Rockwall Police Department will follow when responding to these types of calls. They will be available to answer your questions and look forward to this opportunity to educate the community regarding this new law.

CARGO has invited State Senator Bob Hall who was active in passage of the law and he will provide opening remarks.  The Rockwall PD invites you to attend to learn more about Open-Carry in the State of Texas.
