(ROCKWALL, TX – Dec. 28, 2015) This past weekend, our eyes have been opened to just how vulnerable our homes and businesses can be. The disaster had substantial impacts on our surrounding communities, affecting family and friends; neighbors and co-workers. During our deployment to Rowlett, we heard many stories of neighbor helping neighbor, which is exactly what CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) is all about.

Do you know how to help your neighbor? Join us on January 16th and 23rd for Basic CERT Training. The course takes place on two consecutive Saturdays from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Curriculum includes disaster preparedness, fire safety, controlling utilities, disaster medical operations, light search and rescue, introduction to incident command system, disaster psychology, and terrorism response.

You are encouraged to join a CERT program after completion of the course, however, it is not required. As long as we get a chance to make your household and workplace safer, we have accomplished our goal.
