City of Rockwall hires new Public Information Officer

Position Addresses Growth, Desire to Increase Communications and Promotions for City

(ROCKWALL, TX – Jan. 21, 2016) The City of Rockwall has added the new position of Public Information Officer / Marketing and has hired longtime resident, Lauri Dodd to fill the role. The City Council funded the position in this year’s budget to increase communications with its citizens and to further promote City activities, services and events.

“Although it still feels like the small town I grew up in, we are attracting a lot of attention for the quality of life Rockwall provides, the type of commercial and residential growth, and the outstanding entertainment opportunities families can enjoy here,” Dodd says. “I’m excited to be a part of promoting the City to its current and future residents as the growth continues.”

Dodd has more than 18 years of experience in marketing and communications. She previously held positions as a television reporter / anchor, radio host, and in corporate marketing, training and video production.

In addition to raising awareness about the increasing number of services and events offered, the City of Rockwall is dedicated to transparency and communication with its residents, and City leaders say this new role will help further address that effort. “We are all excited to have Lauri Dodd as a member of our team,” said Rick Crowley, Rockwall City Manager. “As our city continues to grow, this will help us achieve a new level of recognition for Rockwall as a sought-after destination for families and fun. Preserving those things that give Rockwall its unique character continues to be a high priority.”
