(ROYSE CITY, TX – Jan. 20, 2016) In the first year of the UIL Spirit competition the Royse City High School Cheer team set the bar high for the future!

Placing 27th out of 77 5A squads, the RCHS Cheer Team tallied up impressive scores for their performance of the Bulldog Fight Song, band dance Uptown Funk and a cheer/chant mix.

The University Interscholastic League describes Spirit as an extracurricular activity that focuses on the traditional game day role cheerleaders have on the sidelines and in schools supporting athletic teams. At the UIL Spirit State Championships schools competed in three categories: fight song, time out band dance, and time out cheer.
