Candidates present their platforms at forum hosted by Rockwall Chamber, Young Professionals

(ROCKWALL, TX – Feb. 17, 2016) As early voting got underway Feb. 16 for the Rockwall County primary election, voters had the opportunity to hear candidates present their platform during a Candidate Forum hosted by the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce and the Young Professionals of Rockwall.

The event, held in Liberty Hall at the Rockwall County Courthouse, was open to the public and included pre-submitted questions taken from an online survey conducted by YPR. Each candidate was given up to five minutes to introduce themselves and address their platform, and a minute and half to answer each question. Attendees were welcome to visit with each candidate following the forum.

Participating candidates included Andrew Hawkes, Republican, and Harold W. Eavenson (Incumbent), Republican, running for Rockwall County Sheriff; Cliff Sevier (Incumbent), Republican, running for County Commissioner Precinct 1 along with Doug Hamilton, Republican, who was unable to attend due to a death in the family; and David White, Republican; Jennifer Jeffus, Republican; Mark Russo (Incumbent), Republican; and Tim Wells, Democrat, running for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3.

Early voting in the Rockwall County primary election ends Feb. 26. Election Day is Tuesday, March 1. (*Note: You must vote at your precinct on Election Day). Below is a schedule of voting locations and hours. For more information, visit rockwallvotes.com.
