Mark Kipphut announces candidacy for McLendon-Chisholm City Council Place 2

(MCLENDON-CHISHOLM, TX – Feb. 20, 2016) Mark Kipphut has announced he will be a candidate for the McLendon-Chisholm City Council Place 2. Current Place 2 Councilman Jack Pullen recently decided he will not seek re-election after faithfully serving the community for over 30 years.

The politically-conservative Kipphut has lived in McLendon-Chisholm since January 2014 after making Rockwall County his home since 2010. Kipphut served honorably in the United States Air Force for 26 years, retiring in the rank of Colonel in 2005. A decorated war veteran, he has devoted his life to serving the nation and its citizens.

From 2006 to 2013 he was a senior executive for the Raytheon Company, a Fortune 500 Aerospace and Defense Company. He first served as the director responsible for the strategic planning and investments guiding a major company portfolio in Arizona before moving to Texas to run three major programs providing critical capabilities to fight the war on terrorism.

In 2013, he left Raytheon and turned his energy to serving the community in McLendon-Chisholm. Currently, he is serving on the Chisholm Crossing Home Owners Association Board, his focus has been on establishing financial accountability and budgetary transparency to ensure needed services and infrastructure are identified and supported by the community. He is committed to ensuring McLendon-Chisholm remains focused on high-quality, low-density development that benefits all residents. “This election is about our city and our future — it would be my honor to represent the citizens of this wonderful community on their City Council, said Kipphut.”

Kipphut is running to make certain the opportunities given to him will be available to future generations. “We are blessed to live in the greatest nation on earth and in a strong, family orientated city, and I believe it is our obligation to always give back and provide these same opportunities for future generations,” said Kipphut.

“For the good of all, city government must be lean and efficient with a robust focus on providing the basic and emergency services that have the biggest impact on our everyday lives including world-class first responders, excellent roads and utilities, and safe neighborhoods.”

Kipphut highlighted the recent tornado as an example for the need of city government to be prepared to deal with the worst. He added it takes experienced leadership and character that does not waiver under pressure. At the same time he is committed to efficient and accountable government, low taxes and protecting individual freedoms. “Providing for our future takes experienced proven leadership,” said Kipphut.

As your City Councilman, he will never falter in supporting the conservative principles that have allowed us all to share in, and achieve, the American Dream.

Kipphut has been married to Lorna Kipphut for 29 years, and they were blessed with one daughter adult daughter who resides in Dallas. Kipphut graduated from The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina, with a Bachelor of Arts degree and from Embry-Riddle University with a Masters in Business Management degree.
