(ROCKWALL COUNTY, TX – March 22, 2016) Rockwall County District Attorney Kenda Culpepper moderated and participated in a panel of regional District Attorneys hosted by the North Texas Crime Commission’s Legislative and Cyber Crime Committees on Thursday morning at the Rockwall County Courthouse.   District Attorney Culpepper was joined by Collin County DA Greg Willis, Dallas County DA Susan Hawk, Grayson County DA Joe Brown, and Kaufman County DA Erleigh Wiley.

DA’s discussed potential legislative issues and their impact on law enforcement in the North Texas region and across the state. Over 100 invited guests attended the two hour briefing.

“I was proud to join my North Texas colleagues in discussing these important issues,” said DA Culpepper.  “I am also pleased that so many elected officials, legislators, top state and federal law enforcement personnel, and community leaders were in attendance.  It is important that we educate each other and collaborate together to strengthen and improve our criminal justice system.”

The North Texas Crime Commission is an organization made up of North Texas law enforcement agencies.  In its 66th year, it was formerly called the Greater Dallas Crime Commission, and it has a large state and national influence with regard to its support of law enforcement.  Members include police chiefs, Special Agents in Charge (SAICs) for the FBI, ATF, DEA, IRS, ICE, HSI, etc., state and federal prosecutors, legislators and other elected officials, and influential corporate and community leaders.

“The North Texas Region is indeed fortunate to be represented by some of Texas’ most highly qualified and hardest working elected District Attorneys,” said David Dean, chair of the North Texas Crime Commission.  “With their help and support, the citizens and businesses of North Texas will continue to be among the safest in the United States.”
