Rockwall Chamber hosts successful Women’s Conference & Business Expo

(ROCKWALL, TX – April 4, 2016) The Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce hosted over 100 women at the Castle in Rockwall on Friday, April 1^st for What’s Your Superpower? Women’s Conference & Business Expo, presented by Hormonal Health Wellness and Aesthetic Centers and Patty Turner Group.

Attendees were treated to phenomenal speakers, business exposition, a catered breakfast and lunch. Lake Pointe Medical Center sponsored the audio and visual as well as the venue. Attendees were greeted by two new Honda cars, provided by Honda Cars of Rockwall, as well as given conference bags sponsored by Atmos Energy and conference program sponsored by MidSouth Bank.

What’s Your Superpower? Women’s Conference and Business Expo committee was led by committee chair, Eva Hummel of Atmos Energy, Erika Livingston of Hello Gorgeous Blowouts, Nancy Salverino of Selfies On Canvas, and Veronica Combs of Pilates Blueprint.

The conference kicked off with a delicious breakfast by Occasions at Stone River, sponsored by the Rockwall Economic Development Corporation. Eva Hummel, What’s Your Superpower committee chair, welcomed the attendees, thanking the sponsors and exposition booths for their support of the conference. Brandy Prince, RN, MSN, CFNP of Hormonal Health Wellness and Aesthetic Centers and Patty Turner of Patty Turner Group co-presenting sponsors of the conference each spoke on the importance of supporting women in the workplace, women in business, and at home.

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall sponsored keynote speaker Vicki Hitzges, former award winning TV news anchor, author, and Certified Speaking Professional. Vicki focused on behavior management and improving employee, coworker and customer relations. She energized the crowd with moving experiences from her past career experiences, communication exercises that attendees took part in, and ways to build more positive relationships in all areas of life.

My Computer Guy sponsored speaker Misty Sanford, founder of North of Creative, a social media strategy and reputation management firm. She spoke on the changes in social media and how to best target a customer market.

Special Products Manufacturing, Inc. sponsored speaker Stephanie Lucero, former KTVT reporter, who spoke on her experiences in the news industry and her career change later in life to Dallas Can Academies as the Development Director for the Dallas area.

Integrity Air Conditioning, Honda Cars of Rockwall, and Spine Team Texas sponsored a refreshing lunch of various salads and desserts. During the lunch hour attendees also visited the expo booths and gathered great information from participating vendors.

The final speaking session of the conference consisted of a panel of four medical experts: Dr. Amy Eastman, MD of Rockwall Surgical Specialists; Dr. Tiffany Jackson, MD of Gynecology Specialists of Garland; Terri Suresh, RN, MSN, ACNP of Hormonal Health Wellness and Aesthetic Centers; and Dr. Yeraldine Toledo, MD, FACC of Texas Cardiac Associates. Each panel member discussed important issues related to women from breast examinations, reproductive health issues, hormonal health, to heart health. Each panelist gave a unique perspective from their field of expertise that covered many of the hot topics women discuss on a daily basis. The conference concluded with a mixer sponsored by Selfies On Canvas. The mixer included cocktails and a light assortment of fruit and vegetables.

What’s Your Superpower? Women’s Conference and Expo also hosted students from Rockwall Independent School District and Richland College through Emerging Leaders sponsors Lakeside National Bank and Oncor Electric Delivery. The conference also featured premium exposition booths, Alliance Bank and American National Bank. Exposition booths also included, Dallas County Community College District, Hello Gorgeous Blowouts, Helping Hands, Hormonal Health Wellness and Aesthetic Centers, Integrity Air Conditioning, Lake Pointe Medical Center, Legend Salon, Michelle Rice Photography, Gynecology Specialists of Garland, Patty Turner Group, Pilates Blueprint, Regional Plastic Surgery Center, Rock Ridge Assisted Living and Memory Care, Selfies On Canvas, Spine Team Texas, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall, Volunteers of America, Texas Cardiac Associates.
