Bringing business and community together

The President’s Pen

(ROCKWALL, TX – May 3, 2016) Rockwall County is home to six cities, small to large, each with its own unique flavor and outstanding characteristics. A recent survey published by Forbes Magazine identifies Rockwall County as one of the fastest-growing counties in the United States.

Our local business climate is flourishing from the ground up. At the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center, we are proud to partner in this success ensuring that Rockwall County is the foremost location for economic development and business prosperity.

Where Healing Begins

One such program that provides its members with a greater view of past, present, and future of the business community is Leadership Rockwall, created to increase the quality and quantity of men and women capable of accepting leadership roles in community organizations and elected positions is part of its core value. The 2016 class’ Refuge of Rockwall project supporting the Children’s Advocacy Center of Rockwall County is a prime example of community leadership.

The focus for the class project centers around the premise “Where Healing Begins.” They teamed up with District Attorney Kenda Culpepper and Women in Need to provide a safe and healing place for children and parents in abusive situations through the creation of an outdoor facility.

This program and its rewards help develop informed, civic-oriented leaders interested in helping direct the future of Rockwall County. Graduates of our sought after Leadership Rockwall program are serving in leadership positions throughout our community.

Chamber Golf Tournament

The carts are ready and the duffers are eager to hit the course at Buffalo Creek Golf Course on June 17, brought to you by our title sponsors American National Bank and Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall. Each year, a sell-out group of hackers and even some near-pros do their best to win the coveted trophy. The tournament features a traditional golf scramble format – with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.

On behalf of The Chamber, we are seeking participants, sponsors and donors for our annual gofl tournament. This fantastic event is an excellent opportunity to market your business! The mission of the Chamber is to make everyday extraordinary for business while maintaining the ideal hometown feel. I am honored to serve that mission as your President of the Chamber & Visitors Center.
