Community enjoys Jackets football, supports Helping Hands at Spring Swarm 2016

(ROCKWALL, TX – May 26, 2016) The community came out to show their Jacket pride and helped the Jacket Backers Booster Club conclude a successful food drive for Rockwall County Helping Hands on Tuesday’s Spring Swarm football game showcasing the 2016 Rockwall High School Yellowjackets junior varsity and varsity football squads.

Folks enjoyed Jacket Backers promotions, special guests, and a 7-on-7 matchup between Utley and Williams Middle School during halftime of the varsity game. Admission to the event was $2 per person or free with a donation of two canned goods. Jacket Backers collected $1,513 in admission proceeds to benefit Helping Hands.

Rockwall County Helping Hands is the main social services provider for the county, and recently celebrated its 40th anniversary providing for underserved families through its Assistance and Referral Program, Food Pantry and Health Center.

The Jacket Backers Booster Club is a non-profit association formed to maximize fundraising efforts for Rockwall High School sports, and other charitable activities that promote the development of good character, high morale, maximum effort, the highest standards of sportsmanship, competitive spirit, pride, and community service. The Rockwall Yellowjackets will visit the Cotton Bowl this upcoming season to take on the Rowlett Eagles on Saturday, September 3. The game will kick off at 1:00 p.m. Tickets are on pre-sale order starting now until June 2 and will be available for $6.00 (with service fee) online. Tickets will go on sale for general admission after June 2 and will be $8.00 (with service fee).
