(ROCKWALL COUNTY, TX – June 17, 2016) The North Central Texas Council of Governments’ Area Agency on Aging will hold a public hearing on the current and future needs of older residents in Rockwall County. The hearing will take place on July 29, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Royse City Senior Center, 107 Plum Street, Royse City, TX 75189.
The NCT-AAA will hold this meeting to collect public comment on area plans for services. The NCTAAA, which serves older persons in Rockwall County, currently funds nutrition, homemaker, information and referral, benefits counseling, case management, caregiver and ombudsman services. However, the NCT – AAA has some flexibility in determining what services will be funded and the funding levels for each services. Public comment helps the agency target its resources in areas of greatest need.
During the public hearing, the NCTAAA will ask Rockwall County residents and their advocates to share their current and future aging concerns. Citizens will be asked for feedback on how well current services are meeting older persons’ needs and determine what gaps in services need to be filled.
