(ROCKWALL, TX – June 1, 2016) Fifth and first graders at Cullins-Lake Pointe Elementary School recently collaborated on an ideal playground design.
First, they visited various playgrounds in the area. They viewed pictures of them and evaluated what they liked and disliked about each playground.
They formed teams, typically with two first graders and two fifth graders, and planned their ideal playground.
Students then worked together to build a model of their ideal playground using recycled objects and materials purchased with money awarded through the Rockwall ISD Education Foundation grant.
