Red Day: Children’s Advocacy Center, Women in Need get hand from Keller Williams

ROCKWALL COUNTY, TX – June 10, 2016) Over 50 Keller Williams Realty associates recently converged on the Children’s Advocacy Center for Rockwall County to mow, paint, and give back to their community.  Their efforts benefited both the CAC and Women in Need, two local non-profit agencies committed to providing services for victims of child abuse and domestic violence respectively.

“It was such a privilege for Keller Williams associates to come out and help The Advocacy Center,” said Team Leader Tommy Flood.  “The core of our culture nationwide is to come from contribution.  One day a year, we demonstrate our commitment to that by closing every Keller Williams office around the world and spend that day giving back to our community.  This year, we were able to aid the CAC/WIN by staining the fence, rebuilding ramps, adding to the landscaping out front, mowing/weedeating the property, stocking the CAC therapy room with toys, journals, art supplies, therapy tables, and most importantly completely renovating the new therapy room.  We want to thank everyone involved with CAC/WIN for giving us the opportunity to serve.  A new partnership was truly formed.”

“I am so appreciative of the resources Keller Williams dedicated to the Advocacy Center,” said Rockwall County District Attorney Kenda Culpepper.  “We are especially grateful for the work they did to transform the children’s therapy room into a beautiful space.  We look forward to continuing to work with them to help victims of criminal violence in Rockwall County.”

“Because of the generosity of the Keller Williams Realty Associates, WIN will be able to provide Hope, Help and Healing to more clients in a safe environment,” said Connie Pettitt, Executive Director of Women In Need, Inc. (WIN).  “When the community surrounds and supports projects like The Advocacy Center of Rockwall County, it creates a “WIN-WIN” situation for all involved.”

The CAC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing services for abused children.  It will create a safe, child-friendly environment where prosecutors, law enforcement, counselors and other advocates will collaborate to more effectively seek justice and promote healing for Rockwall County’s most vulnerable citizens.  For more information about the CAC or to help, go to www.rockwallcac.org.  WIN provides family violence services such as an Emergency Shelter, a 24 hour Crisis Line, Individual and Group Counseling, Legal Advocacy and a Prevention & Community Awareness Program to ensure that the whole family and our community are educated on the red flag behaviors in family violence relationships.  For more information about WIN, please visit www.WINTexas.org or call 972-772-3000.
