(ROCKWALL, TX – July 8, 2016) I-30 ramps at SH 205 will be closed starting at 7 p.m. July 10 through late 2016 for a construction project to reverse the entrance and exit ramps.
Westbound I-30 traffic can take exit 69 to go to SH 205 and eastbound traffic entering I-30 can continue on the eastbound frontage road to the eastbound I-30 entrance ramp before John King Boulevard.
As the existing ramps are configured, from eastbound I-30 to get to John King Boulevard, motorists must exit at SH 205, go through the intersections and travel along the frontage road. With the ramp reversal, motorists will exit after SH 205 and avoid the SH 205 intersection.
From John King Boulevard to go westbound on I-30, motorists have to travel down the frontage road, go through the SH 205 intersection and enter I-30. With the ramp reversal project, motorists will be able to enter I-30 before the SH 205 intersection.
This ramp reversal project will greatly improve traffic flow in this area when complete.
Portable changeable message boards have been posted to inform motorists of the detours through the area.
