Rockwall School of Music named ‘Best Music Studio/Lessons’

(ROCKWALL/HEATH, TX – August 3, 2016) Rockwall School of Music is honored to have been voted Best Music Studio/Lessons in Living Magazine’s 2016 Readers Choice Awards. Owners Russ and Karen Porter want to express appreciation to our community for making this prestigious award possible.

Twenty years ago when the Rockwall School of Music began, it started with a vision of offering a variety of private and small group music lessons to our community. Through the years they have expanded to providing almost 400 lessons weekly in piano, guitar, voice, musical theatre, drums, violin, viola, cello, bass and woodwind instruments. The Rockwall School of Music is located at 749 Justin Rd in the heart of Rockwall County (one block north of the new courthouse).

Russ’ vision for a school of music began 30 years ago when serving on a church staff. He envisioned the empty rooms being filled with music teachers and students. It took a number of years for his vision to be realized.

“I’m living my dream,” said Porter. ‘‘Nothing makes me happier than seeing children, teens, adults and even Senior Adults fulfill their musical passion.”

He added, “With over 23 teachers, we are able to provide a variety of teaching methods to fit the learning style of just about any student.”
