(ROCKWALL, TX – Sept. 16, 2016) Early release days across Rockwall ISD mean an afternoon of fun. However, early release days mean something special for Quest Academy students. On early release days, presenters come into the classrooms from various colleges and professions to share what opportunities are available upon graduation.
“A lot of these kids haven’t been to colleges or don’t even think about going,” said Michele Jensen, a counselor at Quest Academy. “By having them here, it gives the students the opportunity to hear different things and know what they may want to try, look into, research or study in school.”
Students were engaged with every presentation and asked many questions. One student proudly announced as he exited the classroom, “I think I found what I want to do!”
Presenters included Monica Hardman, a Rockwall police officer; Tim Minor, Universal Technical Institute; Les Arrowood, an electrician; Frank Miner, a pilot for Southwest Airlines; Russ Rahimzadeh, a Rockwall paramedic; Mark Burack, an entrepreneur.
