(ROCKWALL, TX — Oct. 7, 2016) Rockwall County EMS helped local Girl Scout Troop 4822 earn First Aid Badges and part of their Safety Badge. The girls, all ages 6-9 and in grades 1-4, earned these badges through an ambulance demonstration and talk with Rockwall County EMS CCEMTP Martin Ramirez.

- Make a portable First Aid Kit
- Find out how to handle urgent first aid issues (e.g. – allergic reactions, asthma, poison, choking)
- Know how to take care of someone who is sick
- Find out how to get help from 911
- Know how to prevent and treat outdoor injuries (e.g. blisters, bites)
“Our girls enjoyed their visit from Rockwall County EMS. We are thankful that Rockwall County EMS took time to come out to demonstrate for our girls,” says Troop Leader LaDelia Jordan. “As a Girl Scout leader, I try to provide a meaningful program where the girls not only earn badges but also gain valuable skills and form lasting memories. We can only do that with the help of community organizations like Rockwall EMS.”
Ramirez adds, “All of us at Rockwall County EMS love giving back to the community in any way that we can. Whether it’s helping a girl scout troop earn a first aid badge or providing a show and tell session for our community’s littlest citizens we are always happy to serve.”
