Rockwall City Council member Dennis Lewis announces his candidacy for City Council Place 5

ROCKWALL, TX (Jan. 13, 2023) Current Rockwall City Council Member Dennis Lewis has announced that he will run for the position in which he currently serves – Rockwall City Council Place 5 in the May 6, 2023 general election.

Dennis was appointed by the City Council to fill the vacant seat in Place 5 and was sworn-in at the City Council meeting on January 3, 2023.

Dennis stated: “I am extremely grateful to what are now my fellow City Council Members for appointing me to fill this vacant seat, I am honored and humbled to be able to serve the citizens of Rockwall. I care deeply about the City of Rockwall and the citizens of Rockwall and I want to be a part of planning for the future of Rockwall. I have a heart for service to others and I believe my life has reflected that.”

Prior to being appointed to the City Council, Dennis served on the Rockwall Planning and Zoning Commission and as a Rockwall City Council Member from 2012 until 2018. Dennis proudly serves as President of Meals On Wheels Senior Services of Rockwall County. He also currently serves on the American Subcontractors Association (ASA) – National Organization’s Task Force on Ethics in Construction. He is a former board member and served several terms as President of the ASA – North Texas Chapter. He is active in and a former board member of the Texas Construction Association.

Dennis and his wife Clarissa have been married for forty-four years, and along with their three children, Tiffany, Brett and Elise moved to Rockwall in 1993. All three children are Rockwall High School graduates. Dennis and Clarissa are active members of Lakepointe Church.

Dennis is a graduate of Texas A&M University. He is Vice President of Potter Concrete, Ltd based in Irving, Texas. Clarissa is a Registered Nurse at Texas Health Hospital -Rockwall.
