Shannon Elementary’s mock presidential election matches nation’s results

(ROCKWALL, TX – Nov. 13, 2016) Students at Shannon Elementary School were able to participate in their own Presidential election last week.  Fifth graders made posters to get out and VOTE!

All students were given Voter’s Registration Cards and their teachers explained the election process.  Then on Tuesday, November 8th, when the rest of the nation was on pins and needles, sixth graders coordinated voting for each student on iPads through a Google Form.

The Shannon results were announced at the very end of the day on Shannon’s KSTR news broadcast.  Shannon’s results matched the nation’s results and Trump won. It was a great learning opportunity at an exciting time in our country!
