Rockwall Councilmember Kevin Fowler files for re-election

(ROCKWALL, TX – Jan. 21, 2017) City of Rockwall Councilmember Kevin Fowler has filed to retain his seat in the May elections. He was first elected in May 2015.

“It has been an extreme honor to serve the citizens of Rockwall. We are fortunate to live in such a great city and am honored to be entrusted with this responsibility,” said Fowler. “I enthusiastically look forward to serving and continuing to ensure that Rockwall remains a vibrant community for business and is a quality place to live.”

Since serving on the Rockwall City Council, Fowler advocated for the recently adopted strategic plan and is a fiscal conservative that was part of a council that decreased the tax rate. “I love Rockwall and have a vested interest in our city. The City has strong leadership, both on staff and council, and I look forward to continuing our work to address the opportunities facing our city.

“My vision for the future includes the continued development of parks, outdoor spaces and connectivity of hike and bike trails, ensuring smart, quality development, infrastructure improvements and most important, communication, transparency and accessibility to our citizens,” Fowler said.

Fowler has a long history of service to Rockwall, holding key leadership positions on numerous boards and commissions. He is presently a board member for the Rockwall Philharmonic Orchestra, is a member of the Rockwall Rotary Club, where he is the current Chair of the Rockwall Rotary Foundation, and the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce. Previous board activity includes Lone Star CASA, the Rockwall Youth Fair, the Rockwall Business Education Council, Building Better Roads Bond Committee and Boy Scout Troop 83. He is a 2014 graduate of Leadership Rockwall.

Fowler is Senior Vice President/Senior Commercial Lender at Northstar Bank and a long-time Rockwall County resident. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University and the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.
