(HEATH, TX – Feb. 19, 2017) Garrett Bothun of Heath filed Friday to run for Heath City Council, Place 6.
Bothun is a Heath resident and owner of Garrett Bothun Consulting, primarily working with a small group of industry leading home service companies across the country. Prior to his consulting work, he spent eight years as an In-House Landman for XTO Energy in Fort Worth.
“When our son was born, my wife and I moved to Heath to raise our family in a safe and prosperous town, with quality housing, open spaces, exemplary schools, and proximity to our church and family,” Bothun said.
“My family and I love Heath. If elected, it is my goal to preserve the rural charm, high property values, and low density that has drawn us all here. I will do my best to work within the council to maintain sound fiscal management, solid capital improvement projects, a strong department of public safety, responsible growth, and vibrant parks.”
“My vision is for Heath to continue to be a great place to raise my children, and for them to be proud to stay around and call it home as they raise children of their own. It would be a great privilege to earn the trust of Heath’s citizens to responsibly serve and support my vision as a Councilman.”
Garrett and his wife, Marissa, were high school sweethearts at Rowlett High School and graduates of the University of Oklahoma where Garrett played football. They have two children – Graham (4) and Makinley (1). The Bothuns enjoy outdoor family activities, sports and fitness events, love their neighborhood, and are active members of Lake Pointe Church.
The General Election for Heath City Council is scheduled for May 6th, 2017.
