Rockwall County Helping Hands to host Boutique Grand Opening

(ROCKWALL, TX – Feb. 20, 2017) Rockwall County Helping Hands is pleased to announce the Grand Opening of the Boutique of Helping Hands.

Join them in Building A at 950 Williams Street, Rockwall, TX 75087 from 10am – 5pm on Saturday, March 4^thfor a great shopping experience. Live music, treat stations and some of the best shopping you will ever find in a thrift store are all happening on March 4th.

As the population in Rockwall grows, so does the need and Helping Hands is working to improve facilities to meet those demands. As drop offs of clothing, furniture and household items have grown the agency has realized a need to grow the thrift store to keep up with a steady flow of incoming donations.

Be sure to come back on Tuesday, March 7th as the area Chambers (Rockwall & Royse City) will be commemorating the occasion with ribbon cutting ceremonies at 1:15pm! Helping Hands appreciates the community’s support and know you are the hands helping the community; they are just the funnel your love flows through!

The Helping Hands Thrift Store & Boutique is one of the main revenue generators for the agency’s programs. Money generated by the store goes directly to helping community residents not only when they are in financial crisis but also when there is a need for warm clothing or furnishings, as seen after the tornadoes last year.

Since 1976, Helping Hands has been committed to ensuring that no one in Rockwall County goes to bed hungry, without a roof overhead, or deprived of needed medical care – for every person in the community. Helping Hands is the community’s first line of defense in bad times, making the agency a vital heartbeat of Rockwall County.

Helping Hands Fun Facts:

In 2016, more than 23,000 bags of food were provided to clients from our food pantry, and provided emergency assistance to more than 4,000 unduplicated clients.

In 2016, over 900 vaccines were given at the Health Center of Helping Hands keeping our community health. Their sliding scale program helping 738 patients receive low cost medical care they could not otherwise afford. Their low cost clinic is available to everyone and patients are treated with respect by qualified nurse practitioners and volunteer doctors.
