(ROCKWALL, TX – March 13, 2017) Rockwall County Clerk Shelli Miller was awarded the 2016 Five Star Award for her diligence in the timely and accurate registration of birth and death records, which has a profound impact on the citizens of Rockwall County.  The Vital Statistics Unit of the Texas Department of State Health Services presented Miller with the highly sought after award at the 62nd Annual Vital Statistics Conference in Austin.

The Five Star is one of the highest honors given to Local Registrars by the state and is very difficult to earn.  Out of the 254 counties in the state of Texas, only 33 County Clerks met the stringent criteria to receive the award.

“I have to give credit to our Vitals Department, overseen by Senior Deputy Clerk Sandy Herrera.  She and her department are responsible for earning this high honor from the state.  This level of accuracy and service is what we strive to reach throughout my office,” said Miller.
