Jones Elementary students publish first podcast

(ROCKWALL, TX — March 13, 2017) Members of the Jones Jaguars PawsUp Podcast Club finished their first podcast this week. Students met after school in the library every Thursday for one hour. The podcast was completely done by 5^th and 6^th graders who researched, wrote scripts, conducted interviews, recorded “studio” sessions, found sound effects and music, and edited to make a complete product.

Ms. Loya, their sponsor, said, “I am so proud of these students. It’s amazing what kids are capable of if you give them the tools and the time to create. I listened in and guided them a little, but the podcast is their own work.”

The podcast club gives students the ability to work with recording devices and editing software. Students who joined were interested in a variety of things such as acting, writing, working on computers, and interviewing.
