(ROWLETT, TX – April 28, 2017) Baylor, Scott & White Medical Center-Lake Pointe turned the dirt for its new expansion and hospital tower during a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday, April 27. Hospital leadership and Baylor, Scott & White Health management joined Rockwall and Rowlett city officials to celebrate the occasion in the parking lot of the medical center located at 6800 Scenic Drive.
“We came together a year ago to celebrate a new beginning as we entered into a partnership with Baylor, Scott & White Health, and we transformed Lake Pointe Medical Center into Baylor, Scott & White Medical Center at Lake Pointe,” said Baylor, Scott & White Medical Center-Lake Pointe CEO Brett Lee. “This expansion that we’re kicking off today will serve as a platform to continue to evolve the care delivery model for these communities for years to come.”
Baylor, Scott & White Health and Tenet Healthcare Corporation completed a joint venture to own five hospitals in North Texas in January 2016 – Centennial Medical Center in Frisco, Doctors Hospital at White Rock Lake in Dallas, Lake Pointe Medical Center in Rowlett, Texas Regional Medical Center at Sunnyvale and Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Garland. Gary Brock, executive vice president and chief integrated delivery network officer at Baylor, Scott & White Health, spoke to the importance of this joint venture and the expansion of the Lake Pointe Medical Center to accommodate the projected growth of Rockwall, Dallas and Collin counties in the next 10 years.

As we of the joint-venture board were going through our meeting today, we were excited to see all of the great progress that’s going on at this facility, the quality and safety that’s being delivered to patients that come here, along with the financial results which is resulting in us needing to add additional space and capacity to take care of patients in this market.
