Rockwall Lady Jackets Varsity Grabs Lead In Seventh Inning For Victory Over Lufkin
(ROCKWALL, TX – May 1, 2017) Rockwall Lady Jackets Varsity took the lead late in the game in a 6-4 victory over Lufkin on Saturday. The game was tied at three with Rockwall Lady Jackets Varsity batting in the top of the seventh when Erica Speer hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run.
Rockwall Lady Jackets Varsity took an early lead in the first inning. Erica Speer homered on a 1-2 count in the first inning, scoring two runs.
Lufkin evened things up at three in the bottom of the sixth inning. An error scored one run for Lufkin.
Hannah Frank earned the win for Rockwall Lady Jackets Varsity. She tossed seven innings, giving up four runs, nine hits, and striking out two. Radke took the loss for Lufkin. She went seven innings, giving up six runs, nine hits, and striking out 12.
Rockwall Lady Jackets Varsity had nine hits in the game. Samantha Bean and Frank each collected multiple hits for Rockwall Lady Jackets Varsity. Frank and Bean each managed two hits to lead Rockwall Lady Jackets Varsity.
