(ROCKWALL, TX – May 2, 2017) Rockwall County District Attorney Kenda L. Culpepper was honored this month by the State Bar of Texas for her exceptional contributions to the Bar’s continuing legal education efforts. Ms. Culpepper was one of six state-wide lawyers receiving the “Standing Ovation Award” from the staff of TexasBarCLE, the Bar’s division for providing continuing legal education and one of the premier providers in the nation.
Hedy Bower, Director of TexasBarCLE, explained the significance of the award. “All speakers deserve our gratitude for contributing to the continuing education of their peers. Nevertheless, some stand out each year for extraordinary dedication and commitment. The staff looks forward to singling out individuals who not only gave enormously to our efforts but were also gracious, easy to work with, and — oftentimes — helped us out in a real pinch.”
Ms. Culpepper started volunteering for TexasBarCLE in 2011, and since then has been a member of numerous planning committees and a speaker at countless courses. Most recently, she served as Course Director of the 2016 Advanced Criminal Law Course, which is TexasBarCLE’s second largest state-wide conference with approximately 600 attendees each year. “Her professionalism and courteousness have earned her a great deal of respect not only from her colleagues but also from TexasBarCLE staff, who feel very fortunate to work with her year after year,” said Bower.
“I am really honored to be recognized by the Bar in this way,” said District Attorney Culpepper. “I love being a lawyer and prosecutor, and I enjoy giving back to my profession by helping to train other lawyers across the State of Texas.”
