(ROCKWALL, TX – Sept. 20, 2017) The Rockwall High School Chamber Orchestra was recently honored as a Commended Winner in the 2017 Mark of Excellence/National Orchestra Honors Project.
The Mark of Excellence is a national school music competition that honors music programs for high standards in performance.
Evaluation is done by nationally respected adjudicators Anthony Maiello, who is the Conductor for the National Symphony Orchestra at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington, D.C. and Jeff Grogan who is the Education and Community Engagement Conductor of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, conductor and Artistic Director of the NJSO Youth Orchestras, the InterSchool Orchestras of New York and the New Jersey Youth Symphony.
The competition received entries from 38 states and this year received 278 entries in all classifications.
