39th Annual Community Awards Banquet Winners

(ROWLETT, TX – Jan. 29, 2018) The Rowlett Chamber of Commerce recognized 13 award winners at its 39th Annual Community Awards Banquet on Saturday, January 27. The banquet is Rowlett’s premier business event and highlighted the most accomplished companies and individuals as well as the Chamber’s past year accomplishments.

Board of Directors Chair Whitney Laning, President of the Rowlett Citizen Corps Council, kicked off the event with a brief presentation highlighting the many accomplishments and new direction the Chamber took in 2017, including new staff and leadership, a new & improved website that is mobile friendly, 74 new members, increased communications and new processes & procedures.

A video presentation highlighted the Chamber’s signature events in 2017 as well as significant membership milestones that included 10, 20, 25, 30 and 35 year members. The Chamber’s longest member, Schrade Plumbing Inc. was also recognized in the presentation.

The banquet featured Cathi Hight, a consultant with Hight Performance Group, who has helped the Chamber restructure the Chamber’s membership program. Cathi unveiled the new membership model that more clearly identifies the benefits and value that members receive. The highlight of Cathi’s presentation was her explanation of VOI, Value of Investment, as a better way to determine the importance of Chamber membership.
