Rockwall ISD Communications Department Shines at TSPRA Conference

(ROCKWALL/HEATH, TX – Feb. 27, 2018) The Rockwall ISD Communications department recently earned a Best in Category award, nine Gold Star awards and four Silver Star Awards at the 2018 Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) Conference.

“I am extremely proud of the communications team,” said Chief Communications Officer Renae Murphy. “They are an extremely talented group of individuals who have a passion for showcasing the excellence that Rockwall ISD has to offer.”

The Best in Category award, presented to Steven Offield, communications coordinator, for his Arena Scheduling video, was deemed the best in state of all submissions in that category.

With a student population of more than 16,000, Rockwall competes in the 10,000-30,000 Students category along with other districts such as: Duncanville ISD, Grand Prairie ISD, Wylie ISD, Pflugerville ISD, Laredo ISD, Waco ISD and more.

“To be honored by a professional organization like TSPRA validates everything we do in support of students, teachers and staff,” said Murphy.

TSPRA’s annual Star Awards provide recognition for education communications and projects of its members. Judges evaluate each work and project based on set criteria and they award Gold, Silver and Bronze Star Awards, as well as Best of Categories, Certificates of Merit, Crystal Commendations and the Platinum Award for an all-encompassing, year-long communications project.
