(ROCKWALL, TX – April 11, 2018) Congratulations to Ms. Cabrales (4th grade), Ms. Tate (6th grade), and Ms. Loya (LMS) for receiving a Toyota of Rockwall grant to help fund morning STEM stations. The goal of these stations is to provide learning opportunities that students don’t normally get throughout the day or who can’t afford to have these experiences at home.
Hands-on, STEM based activities first thing in the morning will encourage all types of learners to participate, feel successful, and have a positive outlook on education. These stations will compliment similar morning stations in the 1st-3rd grade classes at Jones.
The idea for these morning experiences was brought up by Ms. Twedell, the Jones elementary principal, at an after school meeting and since then, over 30% of the teachers in the school have begun implementing them. It has been an amazing way to keep students engaged and excited about learning, and we can’t wait to see how it grows!
Huge thank you to Toyota of Rockwall.
