Music Fest, Golf Tournament planned to benefit Helping Hands

(ROCKWALL COUNTY, TX – April 23, 2018) Rockwall County Helping Hands is excited to celebrate Rockwall community support with two upcoming May events. On Saturday, May 20th the Hometown Music Fest will kick off at Southern Junction with Helping Hands’ first-ever benefit concert. Following this, on Monday, May 21st they will host their 10th Annual Golf Tournament at the newly updated Rockwall Golf & Athletic Club.

The music festival will be an acoustic afternoon and evening of musical acts consisting of Kody West, Bri Bagwell, and headliner Jason Boland. Each act will be accompanied only by themselves and their guitar. This will be a very intimate affair to help raise funds for your local community members that are in desperate need of help. There’s no easier way to help than sit back, listen to great music and eat a good meal!

On Monday join friends on the golf course for a tournament consistently known as a source of fun, camaraderie, and a key fundraiser for this critical assistance agency. With two flights you can either get up early and be at the office by lunch or sleep in after the concert and meet us for the afternoon round! Either way, all golfers will receive two meals and awards will be announced at the end of the day.

Rockwall County Helping Hands hosts these events to raise funds for your Rockwall County neighbors in serious crises. As part of this, the committees solicit sponsors as well as donations of merchandise that can be utilized! This concert and tournament are a great opportunity to share the mission and work of Rockwall County Helping Hands with a growing list of partners and community supporters.

To purchase tickets for a group of music lovers, sponsor a foursome, donate items, and/or make a general donation go to www.RockwallHelpingHands.com/events to select the event you’d like to participate in. Contributions are tax-deductible less fair market value of benefits received. Helping Hands is committed to ensuring that no one in Rockwall County goes to bed hungry, without a roof overhead, or is deprived of needed medical care – for every person in the community.

Helping Hands Facts:

For over forty years, Helping Hands has offered emergency assistance to Rockwall County residents in crisis by striving to ensure that no one goes to bed hungry, without a roof overhead or deprived of needed medical care. Helping Hands is the community’s first line of defense in bad times, making the agency a vital part of Rockwall County.

In 2017, more than 210,900 pounds of food was provided to clients from our food pantry and provided emergency assistance to more than 4,000 unduplicated clients.

Helping Hands provided over 780 children with toys at Christmas, 245 food baskets at Thanksgiving and 830 school supply packs for children in need at the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year.

In 2017, over 1,800 patients were served on our sliding scale program at the Health Center of Helping Hands and over 700 vaccines were given to keep your community healthy. Our low-cost clinic is available to everyone and patients are treated with respect by qualified nurse practitioners and volunteer doctors.

The reach of Helping Hands extends further with the Boutique and Thrift Store of Helping Hands’ upscale resale shops selling quality merchandise at bargain prices. It is not unusual for shoppers to find designer-brand goods with the original price tag in the Boutique. Your donations of clothing, furniture, and household items also provided 379 of your neighbors with clothing and furniture this past year.

While the Thrift Store and Boutique sales account for more than 30% of the agency’s annual income, this doesn’t cover all that’s needed to assist clients. Helping Hands depends on the extra funding from our natural base of support – you.

Be a volunteer or attend this special fundraising event – Helping Hands needs YOU, Rockwall needs YOU! Please consider making a financial gift. Your one-time or monthly gift of $25, $100, $500, $1,000 or $5,000 can make all the difference… to our Food Pantry, to our Emergency Assistance program, to our Health Center – and to your struggling neighbors.

To donate, please go to rockwallhelpinghands.com or call 972-771-1655.
