(ROYSE CITY, TX — May 1, 2018) At a school board workshop on Monday, April 30, the Royse City ISD School Board approved Brittany Lancaster as principal for Miss May Vernon Elementary starting in 2018-19. She replaces Shannon Hayes who is transitioning to the district’s special education director of the summer.
Lancaster has been with Royse City ISD since 2009. She served as a teacher at Miss May Vernon from 2009 to 2015. She currently serves as assistant principal at Scott Elementary, also in Royse City ISD. Lancaster holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees and is currently seeking a doctorate in Educational Administration.
“We are so proud of Mrs. Lancaster and happy for Miss May Vernon Elementary. She will no doubt continue the great work of Mrs. Hayes and propel the campus even higher,” said Superintendent Kevin Worthy. “Mrs. Lancaster is a wonderful educator and a proven campus leader. We look forward to her continued success and impact at MMV.”
Lancaster and her husband Chad are residents of Royse City and have two boys in Royse City ISD. She will transition to her new role at Miss May Vernon Elementary over the summer.
