(ROCKWALL, TX – August 29, 2018) Because of your generous support, over 900 students in Rockwall County started school with a new set of school supplies and backpack.
On August 16, Rockwall County Helping Hands distributed these items to students who qualified under the free and reduced lunch program. As a result, these individuals had all the necessary items for a successful school year.
Every year AMICA Rockwall jumpstarts this program with a generous grant to Rockwall County Helping Hands. Businesses and community members then compete in “Take up the Challenge,” where money is raised to fund this vital need within our county. This year’s winner of “Take up the Challenge” is Suddenlink by Altice who sponsored 100 students!
On behalf of Rockwall County Helping Hands, its Board of Directors and staff, as well as the students who benefited from this amazing program, we would like to say thank you Rockwall County for making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
