Krav Maga: Women’s Self Defense seminar Sept 15

(ROCKWALL, TX – Sept. 10, 2018) Area women, age 13 and up, are invited to attend a Krav Maga Self Defense Seminar with Eagle USA Mixed Martial Arts from 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, located inside Legends Gym, 811 E. Yellow Jacket Lane.

The cost is $20 (pay instructor the day of the event). Participants will learn basic strikes and choke escapes with a beginner group or you may join the advanced group if you’ve attended one of their previous seminars. All techniques taught are based on KRAV MAGA, the Israeli military self defense and fighting system. Krav Maga is focused on real world situations and extreme efficiency.

Eagle USA MMA’s Facebook page explains it this way: “Krav Maga is a generic Hebrew word meaning “contact fighting.” The word maga means “contact” and the word krav means “battle” or “fight”. In Krav Maga, there are no rules. Krav Maga is a self-defense and fighting system, not a sport. All the techniques focus on strategies and effectiveness in real-life conditions and situations. The attacks and defenses in Krav Maga training are designed generally for close quarter, possibly life threatening situations. The goal of training is to neutralize attacks, counter attack for self protection purposes and to escape rapidly and as safely as possible. Though self protection is the main goal of Krav Maga, the techniques, conditioning and drills make Krav Maga the ideal training for self-defense, fighting, or fitness.”

Lia Vallieres is the school owner and Chief Instructor. With over 20 years in martial arts, she has a 3rd degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, 2nd degree Black Belt in American Kenpo, and a Black Belt in Krav Maga.
