Pullen WatchDOGS host Pizza Night

(ROCKWALL, TX – Sept. 29, 2018) A night of pizza and fun was had by Dads and their kiddos on Thursday, September 20 at Pullen Elementary School. Pullen Elementary’s Watch D.O.G.S. program started off their year with an incredible Annual Pizza Night Kickoff event. The annual event is a favorite as Dads, Grandpas, Uncles, and male role models join their students for a night of pizza and then have an opportunity to put their name on a large calendar volunteering to serve for at least one day out of the entire school year to be at Pullen Elementary.

Watch D.O.G.S (Dads Of Great Students) is a nationally known non-profit organization founded in 1998 shortly after the Jonesboro, Arkansas school shooting. With a focus on providing an additional layer of security for schools, Watch D.O.G.S. has found great success in also helping to ease the issue of fatherlessness. The program focuses on providing male involvement (in a mainly female environment) in the school with opportunities to mentor students, to help teachers, to help secure the school, and to be available and involved with the students while they serve. Incredibly, schools from around the nation that have this program have seen attendance and grades increase.

Pullen Elementary’s Pizza Night Kickoff was a huge success – the most successful yet. They would like to especially thank the Rockwall community for their continued support. Special thanks goes to Pizza Hut, Kroger, Tom Thumb, and Walmart for their gracious support of food, drinks, and plates. As well, a raffle was held for Dads that signed up to serve. Special thanks goes to Shenaniganz, Target, and Best Buy for their gracious generosity of raffle items that helped to fill Pullen’s Watch D.O.G.S. calendar. Lastly, sponsorships from Alliance Bank, Warehouse Pro, SS Electric, and Max Muscle are helping to make this year’s Watch D.O.G.S. program one of the best yet and Pullen Elementary is incredibly grateful!
