We wish to say thank you to the Chamber and congratulations to all of the nominees. This award showcases a company that demonstrates a commitment to community involvement and philanthropy as part of their core business values.

We look forward to the Chamber’s Annual Awards Banquet set for January 24 at the Hilton, where over 600 business and community leaders will come together to celebrate our community and the new year. We are a family-run publication with a small staff doing mighty things. It’s a labor of love and we work pretty much non-stop. We have grown over the past seven years through hard work, long hours, and dedication to the people and businesses in this community. Being part of the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce has been a big part of that – as well as serving on local boards and immersing ourselves in the community through volunteer work, giving our time and resources, and shining the spotlight on the people, places, and events that impact our community in a positive way. We’ve gone from hauling and hand-loading thousands of copies of the paper per month in our garage to now delivering free to more than 22,000 mailboxes throughout Rockwall, Heath, and Fate.

I feel truly blessed and thankful for our dedicated Blue Ribbon News team of Austin Wells, Casey Washington, Mary Bierds, Amy Sidebottom, Keri Lynne Porter, and Junior Correspondent James Martinez – along with contributing writers and columnists like Patti Richter, Scott Gill, and Melissa Tate, among many others. These folks do more, and mean more, than I could ever express.
