(FATE, TX – Jan. 13, 2019) Happy New Year! The year 2019 will be a very exciting one for our City. I am so excited about the possibilities that lay ahead for all of us!
We will continue to focus on our key priorities: economic development, repairing our roads, maintaining a safe community, and keeping a rational tax rate to support a growing City. Oh yes, and securing a grocery store for Fate!
The I-30 corridor will showcase typical economic development but, with a twist, so it will have a unique look and feel. The City of Fate “cool” factor will be our downtown revitalization plan. The economic development plan is creating exciting restaurants and shops for all of us to enjoy in late 2019 and 2020.
We will continue our efforts to improve and maintain our roads in 2019 and beyond. I want to complete our 2018 road plan and invest around $700,000 in new road repairs for 2019.
I will continue to fight to improve citizen access to local government. We are now streaming our City Council meetings, which was one of my 2018 priorities. We have many more opportunities to improve your access to your City government.
I will continue to advocate for fully-funded DPS to ensure we are one of the safest cities in Texas! It is important to have a safe environment for our families to grow and prosper!
As citizens of Fate, we are all in this together! Yes, indeed, these are exciting times!
