Lorna Kipphut announces run for McLendon-Chisholm City Council, Place 1

(MCLENDON-CHISHOLM, TX – Jan. 21, 2019) McLendon-Chisholm resident Lorna Kipphut announces she will run for Place 1 on the McLendon-Chisholm City Council in the upcoming May 4 election.

“I proudly volunteer to continue my service to Rockwall County by running for McLendon-Chisholm City Council, Place 1 this May. I look forward to meeting even more citizens across McLendon- Chisholm as I introduce myself and learn their views of our wonderful community. “

“I am excited to listen to my neighbors and make McLendon-Chisholm a friendly and welcoming environment. There is a tremendous amount of growth in Rockwall County and McLendon- Chisholm must be an active partner with the County in the direction and future of that growth.”

Lorna is from Peninsula, Ohio; a small town of around 600 people in northeast Ohio. Upon graduation from Bowling Green State University Lorna was commissioned in the United States Air Force, serving globally in the USAF for 20 years, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. Lorna now works as a team member on the Debbie Branch Group of Ebby Halliday Realtors in Rockwall.

Lorna leads many of the youth initiatives for the Terry Fisher American Legion Post 117, including the nationally recognized Boys State and Girls State programs, serves as a mentor for veteran’s enrolled in the North Texas Regional Veteran’s Court, and is a member of the Rockwall County Women’s Republican Club.

After living in 14 different locations around the world, Lorna and her husband Mark made the decision that McLendon-Chisholm would be their permanent home. Mark and Lorna have been married for 32 years. Mark is also a retired USAF senior officer. Their daughter Madeline a 2015 graduate of TCU, leads a team for a Fortune 500 technology company in Irving. Mark and Lorna have three dogs, Ruby, Smokey and the Bandit they love and pamper.
