Empower 7: Rockwall’s Newest Non Profit Organization

(ROCKWALL, TX – Feb. 28, 2019) Embrace. Mitigate. Practice. Own. Witness. Encourage. Reach. These are the words that make up the name of the newest non-profit to the Rockwall area.

“Empower 7” just obtained their 501(c)3 tax-exempt nonprofit status this week and President Melanie Cobb is beyond thrilled. “In North Texas, there is an overwhelming shortage of services to guide and prepare vulnerable teens for adulthood. Our Christ-centered team is unconditionally motivated to close these gaps and help vulnerable youth transform themselves into purposeful adults. We are thankful for the opportunity to positively impact our communities and eager to see our plans come to fruition.”

Empower 7’s mission is: “Providing strategic life solutions to empower the lives of vulnerable youth”. What this encompasses is a diverse array of solutions to assist community youth in reaching their full potential despite any inherent challenges that may otherwise influence them.

Some of the services that will be provided are 24-hour residential services (Ranch for vulnerable teens and urban transitional living facility for young adults aging out foster care) to provide a safe place where youth can heal, develop and move forward with their lives; outdoor group camps, instructional classrooms, support life groups and one-on-one tutoring to assist with educational needs; and partnership with other individuals and organizations to ensure all the needs of the youth are addressed.

The ultimate goal of Empower 7 is to ensure positive transition from childhood to adulthood by addressing all aspects of development including physical, cognitive, moral, psychological, social, emotional and spiritual. Empower 7 has already begun a Blessings Program. This program will provide food, clothing, educational supplies, sponsorships and celebration gifts for vulnerable youth.
